Our annual Crowder hike was a beautiful day! We are always fortunate to have Anna Persell (park director) be able to teach our kiddos on the safety of hiking, which trails are best and present a scavenger hunt with animal tracks.
This year she had a sandbox with multiple animal track pieces. The students were able to press them into the sand to see the tracks firsthand.
Between playing in giant leaf piles, snacking on fresh pears and playing on the playground, we then set out on our hike. The older kiddos took a longer trail, the younger kiddos took a short trail that lead behind the playground.
Each year we present a new activity for the students to complete while on the trails. This coming year will be our best yet (in my opinion!). It will be a combination of classes for the older kiddos! (I cannot reveal any more secrets so stay tuned!)
