We are an all inclusive homeschool group, dedicated to teach your students in fun and engaging ways!
Each year we strive to complete different classes, touching all the core subjects as well as life lessons and non core subjects.
Our mission is to provide hands-on learning while allowing your homeschool curriculum to be independent of our classes. Simply put, you control the curriculum your student uses while at home, we provide the hands-on learning projects and experiments!
HOW WE GOT STARTED
A few families got together in 2018 one day at the Jamesport park and discussed how nice it would be to create a homeschool group. Ideas were shared, however it would be another year before a group was put into action. We held a small meeting in the summer of 2019 which consisted of 4 families who would be interested in joining. Our goal was simple, meet twice a month to go over core subjects, ideally social studies and to have socialization via play dates.
After a short 2 months, we realized the need for a homeschool group in our community as other families were asking to join! We revamped our class schedule to include multiple subjects, specific times/locations and thus was born-Tri-County Homeschool Group.
By the end of the first official year-we had 12 families in our group! The next year and those following-we continue to grow at an amazing rate. At our biggest classes, we have had upwards of 60 kiddos, ranging from prek-8th grade! We have families joining us from Cameron, Pattonsburg, Princeton, Trenton, Chillicothe, Jamesport, Gallatin and Hamilton!
HOW WE ARE FUNDED
Tri-County Homeschool Group asks a $135 year fee per family. This fee takes care of our snacks/drinks and class specific supplies. None of our volunteers/teachers are paid.
WHERE WE MEET
We currently meet at the Daviess County Library basement in Gallatin. On occasion, we meet at the Jamesport Park. All classes are announced the week of a meeting with the location, date and time. (We have always met on Fridays, unless a field trip states otherwise).
